The School of Engineering and Applied Science at Ahmedabad University is organising its Third Technology Festival-‘Ingenium 2018’, from March 16 to 18, 2018. Ingenium 2018 includes impassioned rivalries, elucidative workshops, presentations, enlightening talks and elating evenings that move, excite and mesmerise the participating students from across the state. This edition of Ingenium has invited students from cities across Gujarat to prove their mettle and enrich their knowledge, thus proving our motto “Where innovation is education.”
Professor Sanjay Chaudhary, Associate Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Ahmedabad University, said, “Ingenium offers students the opportunity to showcase their technical skills and innovative bent of mind along with social initiatives. It is a platform to test their calibre, all the while maintaining a healthy and competitive spirit. Ingenium inculcates the core university values of project-based learning and multidisciplinary approaches to real life problems.”
Ingenium has been growing gradually since its first edition in 2016. The second edition of Annual Technology Festival in 2017 witnessed participation of more than 1200 students from 21 different academic institutes around Ahmedabad.
As part of this year’s activities at ‘Ingenium 2018’, various workshops and events are guided by competent mentors from institutes such as IIT Bombay, IIT Gandhinagar and LD Institute of Engineering. We have invited experts on campus to deliver talks on interesting technology topics which include Cryptocurrency Talk, MATLAB for Chemical Engineering.
The itinerary of Ingenium – 2018 includes:
- Competitions (Code Villa, Codefi, Designer's Paradise, Web Spin, Construct-O-Mania, Ultimate Prix and Rocket Propulsion, Model Development, Conquer The Throne, Codefeeder, Robotics)
- Events (Junkyard wars, Fuel Cell Car, Techno-Industrial Quiz, ‘Does Grey Matter?’)
- Games (Mini Militia, FIFA, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Socc-Bots)
Google's Applied CS with Android Workshop has already been concluded under Ingenium 2018, which received encouraging and proactive response from the students of leading engineering and technology institutes all across the country. The workshop was followed by the all-time successful Hackathon, a 36-hour nonstop coding event. The themes for Hackathon this year were Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Smart Cities, Fintech and Internet of Things.
Finally, complementing the competitive spirit of Ingenium 2018, the final evening will witness a breathtaking musical performance by the popular band “The Local Train.”
