Faculty Development Programme on Advanced 5G Wireless Communication Organised by the School of Engineering and Applied Science
As part of a DST-ASEAN and DST-UKIERI Research Project, a faculty development programmme about Advanced 5G Wireless Communication: Performance Analysis and Monte-Carlo Simulations was organised by the School of Engineering and Applied Science. The programme provided faculty members from engineering colleges, research scholars, and undergraduate and postgraduate students in-depth technical exposure to Cognitive Radio, Cyber-Physical Systems, Massive MIMO, Full Duplex Radio, and their utilities in conjunction with 5G technology. This five-day programme on June 18–23, 2018, also had an expert talk on Concept Mapping delivered by Dhaval Patel, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Science, which helped the participants to organise and structure the knowledge. As a hands-on activity for concept mapping, four teams were asked to present a concept map related to cyber-physical systems. The other key speakers for the event included Professor Miguel Lopez-Benitez, University of Liverpool; Professor Saif K Mohammad, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi; and Professor Mehul S Raval, Ahmedabad University.
