Students seeking a transfer to Ahmedabad University from another university will be able to apply for Lateral Admission for the academic session commencing July 2026.

Admissions to the Engineering programme at the School of Engineering and Applied Science are available subject to other stipulations by the regulatory authorities.

General Guidelines

• Laterally admitted students will have to complete the Foundation Programme.
• Candidate must pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable application fee of INR 1000/-
• Upload the required documents (scanned copy as mentioned in the application) by visiting the appropriate section in the online application form.
• Your application must include the complete syllabus of the programme, including a list of courses, the description of each course studied, and the credit distribution followed at the current university. Applications that are complete with a detailed syllabus will be reviewed for mapping the courses and determining the credits that can be transferred for lateral admission.
• On submitting transcripts and details of courses completed, the Dean of the relevant School shall determine how many credits from the earlier university can be transferred.
• The student must complete at least 50 per cent of her/his credits at Ahmedabad University and may be required to complete a higher percentage of credits at Ahmedabad University for a specific Major. Students may take courses during the summer or an extra course during the regular semester to complete the requirements for their degree programme at Ahmedabad University.
• All applications will be subject to meeting the School-level eligibility criteria for your preferred Major.
