About the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of Arts and Sciences
Collectively, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Science have experts in a very wide range of academic disciplines. In particular, both Schools together have physicists and mathematicians working on various different areas of physics (nonlinear dynamics, fractional calculus, fluid mechanics, renewable energy technology, atmospheric science, particle physics, cosmology, string theory) as well as mathematics (topology, differential geometry).
The project is sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under Indo-Russian Call for Joint Proposals. The JRF will contribute to the various calculations related to (a) formation of primordial black holes, their observational imprints, and implications for the physics of the early universe, (b) Axions and axion-like particles, their possible role in structure formation, and novel ideas for detecting them, and, (c) generation of charge asymmetry in the early Universe.
The candidate must have completed a Masters degree in physics.

Undergraduate students go through a Foundation Programme in their first year. This includes four interdisciplinary and immersive 4-week courses in the Studio format, referred to as Thematic Studios, on Democracy and Justice, Environment and Climate Change, Neighbourhoods and Water. For each of these Studios we seek Teaching Assistants.
The Teaching Assistants for the Foundation Programme will support the teaching-learning activities at the Foundation Programme courses. On most days the learning in the mornings will be via lectures and discussions which will be led by the faculty while the activities in the afternoon will be coordinated by the Teaching Assistants. Teaching Assistants are required to attend the morning sessions as well as coordinate the afternoon sessions.

Role Summary: This role is suitable for a computer science graduate or someone about to graduate who aims for a research career. The project is multi-disciplinary between computer science and healthcare. Project Assistant is expected to closely work with the project investigator and report progress. Meeting updates once a week are expected. Particularly, the project aim is to develop a novel teleconsultation tool for cardiomyopathy patients. About the School: The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Ahmedabad University, is engaged in teaching and research in the fields of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
Brief Description of the Project: The research project is aimed to design and develop Divya-wear (DW) for visually impaired people. The DW would be a haptic wearable vest for cueing the wearer about the possible indications depending on the prevailing environment. The DW would provide guidance in unexplored areas for the visually impaired wearer. The project is in collaboration with the Blind People’s Association (BPA), Ahmedabad. After the assembly of working prototypes, there will be actual testing by normal and visually impaired wearers. The design would be improved by constructive feedback received from BPA. The research assistant is required to provide full support in various phases of the project.
