About the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of Arts and Sciences
Collectively, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Science have experts in a very wide range of academic disciplines. In particular, both Schools together have physicists and mathematicians working on various different areas of physics (nonlinear dynamics, fractional calculus, fluid mechanics, renewable energy technology, atmospheric science, particle physics, cosmology, string theory) as well as mathematics (topology, differential geometry).
The project is sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under Indo-Russian Call for Joint Proposals. The JRF will contribute to the various calculations related to (a) formation of primordial black holes, their observational imprints, and implications for the physics of the early universe, (b) Axions and axion-like particles, their possible role in structure formation, and novel ideas for detecting them, and, (c) generation of charge asymmetry in the early Universe.
The candidate must have completed a Masters degree in physics.

Project Title: Phase behaviour and microstructures in aqueous solution of mixed surfactant systems, micellar transition, foaming and micro-emulsion
Duration: (1-3 Years). Initially appointment will be given for one year and could be extended for three years in total based on the performance.
Role Summary: The Project Fellow will have to assist in all the activities related to the research project. This will include planning and performing experiments, literature review, Report writing and presentation. The proposed collaborative project with IUC-DAE has huge potential to generate the basic knowledge about the surfactant-cosurfactant systems.
Sciences: 2 nd class M.Sc. with a minimum of 55% marks in Chemistry/Biochemistry or related. NET-JRF or JEST Qualified will be preferred.
Engineering: M. E / M.Tech. in Chemical or related With minimum 55% marks Or having VALIDGATE score in project relevant subject.
Monthly fellowship will be paid after appointment depending on the candidate’s qualification and experience, etc. as per rules of UGC-DAE CSR.

The selected candidate will work on DST-SERB (Govt of India) Funded Project "“Search for missing links between observation and theory in beyond concordance ΛCDM model” (CRG/ 2020/004347)”.
This is a multi-institute project involving following investigators:

The position will be based in Ahmedabad University but the candidate will have the opportunity to work with all three researchers and will have to visit all the collaborative
institutes time to time.
In addition to research work related to the project, the candidate is also expected to be involved with activities related to Scientific Social Responsibility(SSR) as mandated by
He/She may occasionally have to take part in the training activities of undergraduate and Phd students in the division.
The candidate should have research experience in cosmology. In particular, candidates with research experience in the areas like Inflation/Dark Energy and Modified Gravity Theories/LSS formation in the Universe etc will be preferred. Prior experiences in using computational tools like CAMB/COSMOMC/CLASS or any other similar tools, experiences with MCMC etc are desirable.
Pay Scale: As per DST-SERB scale + HRA as per rule.
Qualification: PhD in Physics. Candidates who have either submitted their thesis or are expected to submit it soon, are also encouraged to apply. Till obtaining phd degree, fellowship in the grade of Senior Research Fellow ( as per DST-SERB scale) will be provided for such candidates.
