Ahmedabad University's School of Engineering and Applied Science offers a Master of Technology Programme in Computer Science and Engineering with specialisations in Data Science and Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. The Data Science and Analytics specialisation equips students with knowledge and skills in applied mathematics, statistics, and computer science to solve real-life challenges across domains, including finance, energy, supply chain, agriculture, and e-commerce. The Artificial Intelligence specialisation provides students in-depth knowledge to develop AI-based approaches to solve complex real-world problems. Eligibility and Selection Process
A graduate with a BE/ BTech (ECE/ CSE/ IT/ ICT), MS (Maths), MS (Statistics), MCA, MS (IT), MS (ICT), BS (CS), BS (Physics) degree can join this MTech programme. A valid GATE Score in CSE/ECE OR an entrance examination conducted by the institute is required. Interviews may be conducted as a part of the selection process.
Admission Process
- Candidates eligible must apply through the online application form with payment of a non-refundable application fee of INR 1200 (inclusive of GST). Upon online registration, candidates are issued a unique login id which should be used for subsequent admission process correspondence.
- Applicants with valid GATE score are short listed for a Personal Interaction (PI).
- Applicants without a GATE score undergo written entrance test followed by a PI.
Selection Matrix
All the shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in the Personal Interaction (PI) round for admission. After that, the admission offers are made to the eligible candidates.
Fee Structure
The tuition fee for the two year programme starting in the academic year 2024-2025 is INR 3,50,000 (INR 1,75,000 per annum).
Note:
- The Tuition Fee will be payable in two equal instalments every year, payable in advance at the beginning of Academic Session.
- Above fee includes only Tuition Fees (Monsoon and Winter Semester). The student may expect to spend INR 10,000 towards books and course materials.
- Those candidates who are offered admission are required to pay full fees for the first semester and confirm admission.
- Charges for participating in the Independent Study Period, Summer Semester, Immersions, Career Development Services, other additional services/offering to be collected separately, which are not refundable.
- The fee is subject to revision and is likely to increase by 6% to 9% annually (Increase in fees in 2023 for continuing students was 7.5%).
- Refunds for withdrawal/cancellation of admission will be as per UGC Guidelines.

Fellowships
At Ahmedabad University, we believe that finances should not stand in the way of pursuing education.
- Students needing financial assistance can opt for a Fellowship of INR 50,000 per year, in which they are required to undertake Teaching Assistantship under a faculty member, assisting them in teaching. For students choosing the Fellowship option, their tuition fees would be reduced to INR 1.25 lakh per year.
- These fellowships are not applicable for industry sponsored students.

For withdrawal of admission and seeking fees refund, the letter of request for withdrawal is available at the Office of Graduate Admission, Amrut Mdy School of Management, Central Campus, Ahmedabad University / can be downloaded from AURIS portal and can be filled online or can be submitted at the programme office at the time of seeking withdrawal along with required documents.
For the admissions cancelled/withdrawn before the formally notified first day of programme commencement 2024 or after that, the refund will be processed in accordance with the guidelines issued by the UGC (University Grants Commission).
Refund of fees, if any, shall be directly credited through NEFT/RTGS to the bank account furnished by the applicant on the application for withdrawal of admission.
