Eligibility

Candidates with a minimum of 60 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA in Class 10, Class 12, and their bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. Final-year students graduating in 2027 may also apply.
Candidates must have appeared in at least one of the following exams: CAT 2026, XAT 2027, NMAT 2026, GMAT or GRE. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Humanities can opt for the On-Campus AMSOM Aptitude Test (October 28, December 3, and February 2).

Application and Selection Process

1. Submit an online application

You are required to submit your candidature for our MBA programme through an online application that includes your academic records, entrance test score(s), and work experience (if any). You will also be asked to upload a two-minute self-video on one of the themes listed below and an optional book review.

Application Fee: INR 1500 (non-refundable)

‘My journey so far’ - share your academic, professional, and personal milestones that shaped your MBA decision.
‘Why MBA, Why Now’ - share your motivation for pursuing an MBA at this stage of your career.
‘A defining moment’ - highlight a challenging situation or a turning point that influenced your life in terms of academic, career path, etc.
‘My Sideways’ - share your interest areas / hobbies from Sports, Music, Arts, Academics, an OTT Series, Stock Markets, etc. and how it has helped you grow in terms of leadership, creativity, resilience, building diverse perspectives, or analytical thinking.

2. Faculty Interaction

A. After your application is submitted and reviewed, selected applicants will be invited for a faculty interaction on-campus or online via Zoom. We expect this to be an engaging conversation (approximately 30 to 40 mins) which helps us know you better.

B. Applicants can also choose to read and review a book (listed below) and then engage in an exclusive interaction with Professor Pankaj Chandra, Vice Chancellor, Ahmedabad University, on-campus or online via Zoom with the opportunity for earning a spot offer.

3. Results

Based on your overall profile and faculty interactions, results will be declared in three categories - Offer, Waitlisted, or Reject.

Fee Structure

For the incoming MBA class of 2027, the tuition fee for two years is INR 14,00,000. The cost of twin-sharing accommodation, three meals a day, and transportation between the university housing and campus is INR 4,92,000** for the two years. A refundable security deposit of INR 20,000 must be paid at the time of admission.

Payment Schedule

Offered candidates will be required to pay a fee of INR 1,00,000 (part of first year tuition) at the time of confirming admission. Balance first semester fees as per offer letter must be paid by June 15, 2027.
All MBA students are strongly encouraged to stay in the housing provided by Ahmedabad University.
The cost of the International Immersion visit is not included in the fee structure. It will be communicated to the students once a destination is chosen, about two months before the visit.

Refunds

Refunds for withdrawal/cancellation of admission will be as per Ahmedabad University refund policy and UGC guidelines.

Merit Scholarship and Financial Aid

Generous scholarships up to 50 per cent waiver of tuition fees will be granted to students with high entrance test scores [CAT 2026 / XAT 2027 - 85+ percentile, NMAT 2026 - 228+ score; GMAT 645+ score, GRE 323+ score] and a strong academic record.
Continuation of merit scholarship in second year requires satisfactory academic performance in the programme.
Offered candidates can also avail bank loans from any of your preferred Public/Private Bank or NBFC.

Frequently asked Questions

Admissions

Is there any minimum score required in the entrance tests?
There is no fixed minimum cutoff. Shortlisting is based on a holistic assessment of your overall profile, including academics, entrance test performance, and other achievements.

Can I apply with multiple test scores?
Yes. You may submit multiple valid entrance test scores, and the best score will be considered during evaluation.

Which entrance test scores are accepted?
Applicants must have appeared in at least one of the following: CAT 2026, XAT 2027, NMAT 2026, GMAT (you can apply with GMAT Superscore), GRE or AMSOM Test [only for Applicants with Bachelors in Arts/Humanities].

When can I appear for AMSOM Test for MBA?
Dates for on-campus AMSOM test are October 28, December 3, and February 2. Alternatively, you can approach Office of Graduate Admissions for assistance.

Where can I appear for AMSOM Test for MBA?
AMSOM test for MBA will be conducted at our Computer Labs on-campus.

Can I appear for AMSOM test if I already have a CAT 2026/XAT 2027/NMAT 2026/GMAT/GRE score?
Yes, you can. For Aspirants with Bachelor in Arts/Humanities, in the entrance test section select – “I would like to opt for AMSOM test”.

Can I submit my entrance test scores later, after submitting my application?
Yes. You may submit your application first and update your entrance test score.

Do I need to submit my application in one go?
No. You can save your application on the application portal and return later to complete and submit it.

Will work experience in a family business be counted?
Yes. Your work experience gained after completion of your bachelor’s degree, including experience in a family business, will be counted.

How will I know if I am shortlisted for a faculty interaction?
Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email on their registered email ID. Applicants are advised to regularly check their inbox and spam folder.

Do you have any quotas?
Admissions are strictly merit-based.

How will the faculty interaction be conducted?
Faculty interactions will be conducted either on campus or online via Zoom.

Is a book review mandatory to apply for MBA?
No.

What can I write in the book review section?
You can sharing your takeaways from it, what are the broad messages or questions the book raises, new concepts you learnt which expanded your understanding of the topic, fresh ways of seeing a problem or a situation, habits you can apply in work, study, or daily life, memorable quotes and passages, etc.

Is it mandatory to submit a Video SOP?
Yes, you must record a video on any one of the four themes listed in the selection process.

Can I record the Video SOP from my mobile phone?
No, use your laptop or PC with high speed internet, web camera and mic.

Can I make changes to my application after submission?
No. Once submitted, the application form cannot be edited.

Can freshers apply to the MBA programme?
Yes. Fresh graduates are eligible to apply. Final-year students graduating in 2027 may also apply.

No. Students are required to arrange their own laptops.

Career Services / Placements

Will I receive on-campus placement assistance?
Yes. The Career Development Centre (CDC) provides end-to-end career support, including internships, live projects, placement preparation, and final placements.

Campus, Housing, and other facilities

Does Ahmedabad University offer housing facilities for MBA students?
Yes. Ahmedabad University provides fully residential student housing facilities. The standard accommodation is twin-sharing, air-conditioned rooms with modern amenities.

Is it mandatory to stay in the housing facility provided by Ahmedabad University?
No. It is strongly encouraged for all MBA students to reside in Ahmedabad University’s housing facilities.

How far is the student housing from the campus?
The housing is located within one kilometre of the Central Campus.

What facilities are provided at the student residences?
Facilities include furnished rooms with beds and wardrobes, study tables, attached washrooms, laundry services, internet, medical support, security systems, and transportation to campus.

What facilities are provided on the campus?

How will students commute between campus and student housing?
A free shuttle bus service is provided for students.

MBA Programme

Will I receive an MBA degree or a diploma?
Upon successful completion of the programme, students are awarded an MBA degree from Ahmedabad University, a State Private University established under an Act of the Gujarat State Legislature and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Are specialisations offered in the MBA programme?
The Ahmedabad MBA is a general management programme. Instead of rigid specialisations, students choose from a wide range of electives across Finance, Marketing, Operations, Data Sciences, Technology Management, Public Policy, Sustainability, FinTech, and more, allowing you to design pathways aligned with your career goals.

Does the MBA programme offer industry connect?
Yes. Industry engagement is a core strength of the programme and includes field projects, summer internships, live consulting assignments, industry electives, leadership talks, conversation series, and engagement through VentureStudio and the Career Development Centre.

Student Residences

Student Residences offers students all the facilities for modern, comfortable, and secure living. The graduate living facilities symbolise the building of a community with respect for diversity in ideas, ways of living, food preferences, cultural practices, languages, and religions.

Located within a radius of one kilometre from Ahmedabad University’s Central Campus, the residence offers twin sharing, air-conditioned accommodations. The hostel is subject to a three-tier security network, including guards, CCTV surveillance, and door alarms. Additional facilities include laundry, transportation to and from the campus, on-call medical services, internet, and more. The University campus also provides a variety of recreational opportunities and cafeterias.
