Amrut Mody School of Management Signs MoU with Rady School of Management
Ahmedabad University’s Amrut Mody School of Management has signed a broad-ranging Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of California San Diego's Rady School of Management, to promote academic cooperation. The MOU was signed by Professor Bibek Banerjee and Professor Robert S. Sullivan, at the University of California San Diego campus. Sharing details about the collaboration, Professor Banerjee, Senior Dean of Strategic Initiatives and Planning at the Ahmedabad University, said on the occasion, “The two universities have great congruence in their respective vision on how they wish to contribute to society. We at Ahmedabad University are delighted to partner with UCSD’s phenomenal intellectual depth in promoting high-quality education and interdisciplinary research”.
Sharing his views on the partnership with Ahmedabad University, Professor Robert S. Sullivan, Dean of Rady School of Management, University of California San Diego, said, “We are happy to partner with Ahmedabad University’s Amrut Mody School of Management to promote our combined intellectual agenda. UCSD’s Rady School of Management has distinguished itself as a pioneer in newer models of business education. The school’s concentration in innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration has led to its rapid rise in international rankings — backed by outstanding achievements of its students, faculty and alumni. Together, with Ahmedabad University, we aim to enhance our reach within India and strengthen our academic aspirations.”

The strategic association between the two universities is intended to promote close cooperation across various areas in joint R&D and educational capacity building. Specific areas for cooperation envisaged in the medium term include domain specialized executive education programs, exchange of faculty, research scholars and students under various mobility programs, as well as jointly conducting academic research projects. This MOU between Ahmedabad University and University of California San Diego will also pave the way for seamless exchange of technological and scientific information including publications, teaching materials, data and library resources. The two universities will also cooperate to jointly organize lectures, symposia, international conferences and developmental workshops.
The University of California San Diego is a public research university located in the La Jolla neighbourhood of San Diego, California, near the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the United States of America. Established in 1960 near the pre-existing Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego is the seventh oldest of the 10 University of California campuses and offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, enrolling about 28,000 undergraduate and 7,000 graduate students. UC San Diego is organized into five academic divisions, namely Arts and Humanities, Biological Sciences, Jacobs School of Engineering, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences; and five graduate and professional schools, namely Rady School of Management, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, School of Global Policy and Strategy, School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
