Acclaimed Chemical Engineering Professor joins Ahmedabad University as Distinguished Professor

Professor Deepak Kunzru has joined as Distinguished Professor at School of Engineering and Applied Science. Professor Kunzru recently retired as Emeritus Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the IIT Kanpur. He was earlier the Chevron Chair Professor at IIT Kanpur. He received his BTech from IIT Kanpur in 1968, MS from Bucknell University in 1970 and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972. He was a faculty at IIT Kanpur since 1974. Professor Kunzru’s main research interests are in the area of microstructured reactors, chemical reaction engineering, pyrolysis of hydrocarbons and petroleum processing. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed international journals and has edited one book. His current research focuses on the use of monolithic reactors for gas-liquid reactions and steam reforming of methane, production of hydrogen from ethanol in microchannel reactors and the development of catalysts for hydrodesulfurization.
