Ahmedabad University’s Alumni Sports Meet strengthened connections across its alumni community, bringing graduates from different batches and disciplines back to campus and creating opportunities to reconnect, build new relationships and renew their connection with the University.
Held on September 13, 2026, the Sports Meet brought together alumni, faculty and current students through badminton, table tennis and pickleball. More than a sporting event, it created a shared space for alumni to return to campus, meet familiar faces and connect with members of the wider University community.
For some alumni, it was their first visit to campus in years. For others, it was an opportunity to meet graduates from different batches and disciplines. The conversations between matches, encouragement from the sidelines and memories shared across the courts became an important part of the experience.
For Dharmadeep Jadeja, MBA 2011–13, HR Manager at Percona, returning to campus and playing alongside his friends and batchmates brought back the experience of student life: “Getting a chance to visit the campus again in itself was a wonderful experience to start with. Playing with my fellow batchmates and friends as a team once again after so many years is something that I really enjoyed.”
For Keyur Khattar, MBA 2011–13, Business Head at Mayank Raw Mint Pvt. Ltd., the value of the event extended beyond the games: “My biggest takeaway was the joy of reconnecting with people and being on campus. It felt like stepping back into college life, while also inspiring me to practice more and come back stronger next year.”
The Sports Meet also highlighted the continuing value of the University’s alumni network- bringing together people at different stages of their professional and personal journeys and creating opportunities for connections that extend beyond their student years.
For Dharmadeep, the experience left him with “wonderful memories and an even better overall experience” and a desire to return for more such gatherings. His message to current students reflects the perspective he has gained since graduation: “Make the most of your youthful energy in the right direction and challenge the status quo.”
Keyur offered a perspective shaped by his own journey: “Don’t compare your Chapter 1 to someone else’s Chapter 15.”
The Alumni Sports Meet demonstrated that alumni engagement can take many forms. Here, sport provided the occasion, while connection, community and a shared sense of belonging made the experience meaningful.
Because staying connected to Ahmedabad University does not end with graduation- it continues through the people, experiences and community that alumni carry forward.
