Sumit Chadha

Sumit Chadha brings over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector. She holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi, a Master's degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and is an alumnus of UCLA.

Throughout her career, Ms Chadha has held significant leadership roles. She served as Managing Director and Head of Country at BlackRock Services India, Head of Enterprise Shared Services at AXA XL, and spent over 20 years in various leadership positions at Citibank. She has also served as a director at XL India Business Services and Reliance Big Entertainment (UK).

Currently, Ms Chadha is the Managing Director and CEO of Baroda Global Shared Services Limited (BGSS), a subsidiary of Bank of Baroda. In this role, she leads a state-of-the-art center in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, overseeing high-volume banking operations and ensuring compliance and operational excellence. She is skilled in scaling operations, strategy development, governance, and driving digital and business transformation.

Ms Chadha also plays an active role in corporate governance and startup mentorship. She has served as an Independent Director on the Board of Trustees at Canara Robeco Asset Management since 2016 and as a director at Affle India since 2018, contributing to strategic decisions in asset management and digital intelligence. Since 2021, she has mentored startups across various sectors, including fintech, insurtech, and edtech, helping foster innovation and leadership.

Committed to social causes, Ms Chadha is passionate about skill development, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability. She frequently speaks at industry events, conferences, and management institutes, delivering training on banking, leadership, and diversity.

In her community service efforts, Ms Chadha, alongside BGSS's COO, donated seven Orbit Braille devices to meritorious students through the Blind People's Association India.
