Takeaway of Old Books and Magazines
The University Library System is organising a ‘Takeaway Old Books and Magazines’ Drive, offering selected items at discounted rates. Books will be available for INR 50 each, and magazines for INR 2 per issue during this period.
Guidelines for the Takeaway Old Books and Magazines Drive
Our primary objective is to promote reading and expand access to books and magazines, rather than focus on commercial returns. We encourage wide participation and request all visitors to avoid bulk purchases to ensure fair access for everyone.
- All purchased books and magazines are non-returnable. Kindly avoid leaving them in common areas, reading rooms, or corridors.
- Choose items only from the designated disposal area.
- Ensure that each selected item bears the ‘Withdrawn’ stamp before taking it.
- After selecting your items, please present them to the library staff or volunteers. Payment should be made exclusively via the QR code linked to the Ahmedabad University account. Cash payments will not be accepted.
- If you find any book or magazine that you believe is important for the future reference needs of our users, please inform the staff or volunteers at the display area. Such items will be reviewed and, if required, returned to the library collection.
- Items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will not be entertained.
