Justice Pankaj Naqvi was a lawyer for 26 years before he became a judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2011. He has given landmark judgements on free speech, liberty, human dignity and privacy. He is remembered for his active association with SAYHOG, a group that works for women in distress on account of domestic violence. Justice Naqvi has recently been appointed as the administrator of the Judo Federation of India by the Delhi High Court and designated as a senior advocate by the Supreme Court of India. He is a trained mediator and an empanelled arbitrator with multiple National Arbitral Institutions; he firmly believes that the litigation explosion in this country can only be addressed if Alternate Dispute Resolutions (ADR) options are widely promoted.
