The University Library, in collaboration with the Graduate School and VentureStudio, is pleased to host an informative session on "Patent and Patent Filing Process" aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of intellectual property rights among students, researchers, and faculty.
This session will begin with an expert briefing by representatives from LexOrbis, a leading intellectual property law firm, who will provide insights into the patent landscape, filing procedures, and common challenges innovators face during the process. Following this, a representative from the University will present the University’s Policy on Patent Filing, outlining institutional support mechanisms, procedures, and guidelines for patentable work.
A panel discussion featuring faculty members who have successfully filed patents will offer first-hand experiences and practical advice. This segment aims to inspire and guide aspiring inventors in navigating the patent system effectively.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the panel during a Q&A session, allowing for personalised clarifications and discussion.
The event will conclude with closing remarks from the CEO of the VentureStudio, emphasising the importance of innovation, commercialisation, and the role of patents in fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem within the University.
