Migration and Climate Change: Triangulating History, Space and Meaning

‘Migration and Climate Change: Triangulating History, Space and Meaning’ this Wednesday 15 January at 2pm. How does the global climate crisis intersect with human activity and migration? The two speakers are the historian Professor Neilesh Bose, who is visiting Ahmedabad from the University of Victoria in Canada, and Professor Aditya Vaishya, a physicist in our Mathematical and Physical Sciences division who specialises in climate change. The meeting will be chaired by Professor Maya Jasanoff of Harvard University and the School of Arts and Sciences.
The Intersections seminar series is intended to promote interdisciplinary research and teaching across all the schools and divisions, and we would like to begin to chart out concrete plans to bring tangible outcomes. Faculty members from across the University can develop interdisciplinary research projects and apply for funding; they can consider ways to work together on key concerns across disciplines; and they can develop courses with an interdisciplinary pedagogy aimed at tackling complex problems.
