Ahmedabad University Library is happy to announce an expert-led training session, “Introduction to SciVal: A Research Intelligence and Decision-Support Platform,” featuring Vijay Reddy, Regional Solution Sales Manager (South Asia) at Elsevier. This session is designed to empower faculty and staff with advanced tools, such as SciVal and Scopus AI, to evaluate research performance, conduct strategic benchmarking, and identify opportunities for global collaboration. With his extensive background in engineering and management, including mentoring high-level government R&D initiatives, Mr Reddy will demonstrate how to utilise trend analysis and tailored reporting to optimise research output and strengthen global rankings.

Vijay Reddy
Vijay Reddy has been a key member of the Research Intelligence team at Elsevier since July 2014.
An engineer with a master’s in management, he specialises in consulting for academic institutions to enhance research capabilities, optimise funding streams, and improve global rankings.
During his tenure, Vijay served as a mentor for a high-profile initiative with the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s Higher Education Department titled “Improving Research Output and Quality.” In this capacity, he focused on:
- Benchmarking research performance and quality standards.
- Empowering R&D cells at major state universities to adopt global best practices.
- Establishing local teams and performance metrics to effectively track and measure research impact.
Vijay’s professional journey includes a significant tenure at GS1, where he helped build a National Hospital Registry to drive transparency and efficiency in India’s healthcare and insurance sectors.
Now with Elsevier and residing in Hyderabad, he leverages this expertise alongside a background that features roles at NIIT Limited and Intense Technologies.
