Gond Painting is a traditional tribal art form originating from the Gond community of Central India. Renowned for its vibrant colours, intricate line work, and rhythmic patterns, this art beautifully portrays the deep connection between humans and nature. Often inspired by folklore, myths, and the natural world, Gond art transforms everyday life into vivid storytelling on canvas.
As the Heritage Club, our aim in hosting this workshop is to celebrate and preserve India’s rich cultural traditions by offering students a hands-on experience with indigenous art forms. Through this session, we hope to foster appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, promote creative expression, and deepen our understanding of our shared cultural heritage. This workshop is being hosted as part of the 6th Annual Conference on Heritage Management, Education and Practice, conducted by the Centre for Heritage Management, Ahmedabad University, in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi, and supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Gujarat.
