Frontiers in Black Holes and Cosmology

In a collaborative effort towards building a channel for discussion and review of recent developments in cosmology and for encouraging young researchers to further their interest in the domain, the International Centre for Space and Cosmology hosted its first conference, ‘Frontiers in Black Holes and Cosmology’,  on July 15, 2022.

The inaugural event of the Centre was attended by 25 participants including faculty and doctoral and postdoctoral students from across the State who presented on and discussed shadows of black holes and naked singularities, and frontier problems in cosmology such as the issue of dark matter. Reflecting on the excitement generated by the conference, Pankaj Joshi, Distinguished Professor of Physics, and Director, International Centre for Space and Cosmology, said, “We want to be instrumental in generating groundbreaking research ideas. This day-long conference offered each of us an opportunity to explore new concepts in astrophysics and collaborate with each other.”
