The speaker will talk about the algebraic theory of eliminations, which happens to be one of the most classical techniques for solving problems in algebra and geometry.

Indranath Sengupta
Professor Sengupta is the Head of the Mathematics Department at IIT Gandhinagar. His research focuses on Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry. He earned his PhD from IISc Bangalore and previously worked at Jadavpur University and RKM Vivekananda University. He was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA.
