Educational Transformations and Societal Change in Liberalising India

A three-day workshop on 'Educational Transformations and Societal Change in Liberalising India', will be held at Ahmedabad University from 9-11 January 2010. The workshop is organised by Mary Ann Chacko and Leya Mathew (School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University), Karishma Desai (Rutgers University, New Jersey), R Maithreyi (Centre for Budget and Policy Studies, Bangalore) and Vidya Subramanian (TISS, Mumbai) and funded by the Spencer Foundation, USA. The workshop will bring together scholars from diverse disciplinary perspectives to discuss how the transformations of liberalisation are restructuring educational provision, governance and aspiration.
