The session will focus on the US university application process and how students can make their application stand out. The key topics that will be covered include application timelines and process, components of a strong application, crafting an impactful statement of purpose (SOP), and building your profile. This session aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how to approach the graduate school (Masters and Doctoral) application process and prepare for success.
Ryan Pereira is the Regional Officer at the United States – India Educational Foundation where he supervises both the Education USA and Fulbright programmes in Western India. Mr Pereira has over fourteen years’ experience guiding students interested in pursuing higher studies in the US. Prior to that, he taught various courses in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai during the 2009-2010 academic year. Mr Pereira was also a postdoctoral fellow and research associate in the Department of Molecular Medicine at Cornell University, where he trained with Dr Richard Cerione. Originally from Mumbai, the guest speaker holds a BSc in Zoology and Biochemistry from St. Xavier’s College Mumbai, an MSc in Biochemistry from Mumbai University, and a PhD in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University.
