Connecting through Culture: An overview of India’s Soft Power Strengths

Sachchidanand Joshi

Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Executive and Academic Head of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, is a Scholar of History and Mass Communication. He is a writer, poet and an actor. He was the Founder Vice Chancellor of the Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Raipur. He served as Vice Chancellor for two terms (10 years). He was also the Founder Registrar of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal. He also served as Dean (Academics) in this University. He has written extensively on media, communication, history, culture, and education policy. He has been delivering lectures on arts and culture, communication, gender sensitization, research for resurgence, and personality development across the country and abroad. He has edited the speeches of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, for Publication Division besides several other publications in the field of arts and culture. He has four published collections of short stories and three collections of poetry. Some of his literary works are Sachchidanand Joshi ki Lokpriya Kahaniya (2017); ‘Putrikameshti’ (2021), Low Hanging Fruits (2024). His speeches have been compiled in two volumes titled “Mera Desh Mera Dharm”.
