A Case Writing Workshop was organized at the Centre for Heritage Management, on December 15th and 16th, 2016. This workshop was supported by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Government of India, and aimed at promoting case writing on heritage management issues. Professor A.H. Kalro led the workshop with sessions from Professor A.K. Jain, Professor Mukesh Patel, Professor Ruchi Tewari and Professor Abrar Ali Saiyad. The first part of the workshop introduced the participants with the philosophy and methodology of the case method of teaching-learning, followed by participating in a session in which a heritage management case (shared in advance) was used as a class teaching exercise. The second part of the workshop involved in exercises in a case writing exercise where participants had to work on their individual cases, on which the faculty group provided necessary input/feedback. The participants are expected to submit a draft within two weeks for further feedback and guidance from the faculty group. The workshop began with an inaugural session on 15th December. Mr Debashish Nayak, Director of the Centre for Heritage Management, and Mr Harish Palsule, Deputy Director at the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT, GoI) welcomed the participants. Professor A.H. Kalro, Professor Emeritus, Ahmedabad University and Academic Advisor, Ahmedabad Education Society, and Professor Ashoke Chatterjee, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Centre for Heritage Management, spoke on the context of the workshop; and Professor Devanath Tirupati, Dean, Amrut Mody School of Management (AU) offered inaugural remarks. The final session of the workshop on 16th December included brief reflections on the learnings from the workshop, participants' reflections and feedback, and closing remarks from Professor A.H. Kalro, Professor Ashoke Chatterjee and Professor Devanath Tirupati.
