Every discovery begins with a question.
Prosetta was born from one: Can we drug transient protein machines to cure complex diseases? The evolution of Prosetta Biosciences, a drug discovery company rooted in novel drug discovery pathway is quite different and interesting. When Prosetta began, the goal was simple yet radical, to study biology without cells. What emerged from that idea was a new way to understand life itself: through cell-free protein synthesis and assembly (CFPSA). This approach allowed us to observe how proteins come together into functional complexes, the very heart of biological activity, and how that process goes wrong in
diseases. Then the question was, can we drug them and bring them back to normal?
In this talk, I’ll trace how that single shift in perspective led to discoveries that could redefine drug development: potential pan-cancer compounds active across dozens of tumour types, broad-spectrum antibiotics targeting multi-drug-resistant bacteria, and novel leads for neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS and Alzheimer’s.
It’s a journey through science, serendipity, and persistence — how an idea born in a lab evolved into a platform that could help reshape how the world treats disease. And more than that, it’s about what happens when curiosity dares to become discovery.
Dr Dharma Prasad’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, purpose, and the spirit of giving back. From a struggling student, he rose through determination to become a leading scientist, entrepreneur, and mentor.
He is the CEO and Chief Scientist of Prosetta Bioconformatics, developing life-saving solutions for infections, cancer, and brain disorders, and the Founder Director of Funpluslearn Solutions, making education engaging and accessible. As Director of Wow Presence, he advises CEOs and organisations on digital trust and brand visibility, while also building successful ventures in diagnostics and contract research.
Beyond business, Dr Prasad is deeply committed to social impact. As Chairman of Samvidya Trust and Convenor of CII’s Industry–Institute Panel, he empowers students through scholarships, mentoring, and skill development.
A PhD from CDFD, University of Hyderabad, and author of 9 books with 20 research publications, his talks have inspired over 48,860 lives in person and millions online—proving that true success lies in uplifting others.
