Book-Share and Read Along Initiative
The University Library System organised a Book-Share and Read Along initiative for school children on August 12, 2023, as part of Librarian's Day celebrations. Under this initiative, the University Library donated around 185 books to Vadaj Hindi Shala No. 1, Smart School, Opposite Fortune Landmark Hotel, Usmanpura Cross Road, Usmanpura, Ahmedabad, and conducted storytelling sessions for students of grades 3, 4, and 5. Ahmedabad University students, faculty, and library staff volunteered for the storytelling sessions. The donated books were mainly collected through a books’ donation drive, and new books were purchased through library staff contributions.
University Registrar Bhupendra M Shah presented the donated books to the school and the following students, faculty, and staff of the University volunteered for this initiative:
