Although many people think heritage is largely related to monuments and history, it is increasingly agreed today that the domain of heritage is much more than historical markers. Heritage is a creative field; heritage practice needs to be socially responsible. It is, in equal parts, about the present and the making of a sustainable future. It is an emerging field that allows people from different disciplinary training to find appealing opportunities to engage with.
