Ahmedabad holds a vital place in India’s freedom struggle. Chosen by Mahatma Gandhi as his Karma Bhumi after returning from South Africa, the city became a centre for movements that shaped India’s independence, while also witnessing the efforts of many lesser-known freedom fighters.
To mark Republic Day (January 26), the Heritage Club proposes a heritage walk titled “Azadi-e-Qadam”, tracing “The Saga of Ahmedabad’s Revolutions” and highlighting key sites and untold stories from the city’s revolutionary past.
