Admissions Open for MTech in VLSI, Microelectronics and Semiconductors 2027
The global semiconductor industry is growing rapidly, driven by advancements in nanoscale IC fabrication/process technologies and the increasing demand for System-on-Chip (SoC) and Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) chips. This growth is fueled by research in emerging electronic materials and devices, as well as application areas such as: Edge Computing, Sensors and IoT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Intelligent Transportation, next-gen communication technologies, and research on emerging electronic materials and devices.
Ahmedabad University’s MTech in VLSI, Microelectronics and Semiconductors programme, is designed for engineering graduates who want to move beyond textbooks and develop the skills needed for the rapidly evolving semiconductor ecosystem. The programme will build expertise across VLSI design, IC devices, semiconductor fabrication and process technology - not just one part of the chip ecosystem. Students will work with industry-relevant tools and gain exposure to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for VLSI design and TCAD tools for semiconductor device and process simulations. They will spend one full year on a Major Project - Choose between: an off-campus industry project solving real engineering problems, OR an on-campus research thesis preparing you for R&D and PhD opportunities.
