Master of Technology in Computer Sciences and Engineering

Programme Overview

The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences offers a two-year MTech programme in 'Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)', with a specialisation in 'Data Science and Analytics'.
 


Salient Features

  • Intake: Twenty (20)
  • Duration: Two years, divided into four semesters. The programme will offer one year of research / industry-based dissertation work. To graduate, students must complete all academic requirements, including a dissertation, three years after gaining admission.
  • Admissions : Admissions for the year 2019 will be managed by Ahmedabad University.

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

The candidate must have completed any one of the following:

  • Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in CE / CSE / CS / EE / ECE / ICT / IT / IC from a recognised university.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Mathematics / Physics
  • MCA Degree (3 Year Programme)
Aggregate marks in the qualifying degree must be no less than 60% or equivalent cumulative grade point average (CGPA). Undergraduate candidates appearing for their final semester/year may also apply. If admitted, students in this category must submit their provisional degree certificate within 30 days of commencement of the programme.


Selection Procedure

Admissions will be offered based on following:

  • Valid GATE score

    OR
     
  • Written test to be conducted by School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad University
Admission to MTech programme will be offered based on valid GATE score in any of following:
  • Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics and Communication / Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering / Physics / Mathematics. 
Candidates without valid GATE score will require to appear in the written test to be conducted by School of Engineering and Applied Science of Ahmedabad University. The merit list will be prepared based on valid GATE score and in case of vacancy, seats will be filled in on the basis of score of written test. The shortlisted candidates will be called for registration, document verification, payment of fees and the orientation program.

Topics for Written Test: Concepts of Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, Digital Logic and Computer Organisation, Database Management System, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Theory of Computation

Written test will have multiple choice questions (MCQ) and duration will be of sixty minutes. Selected candidates will called for the interviews thereafter.

Financial assistance

Selected candidates will be offered aid on the basis of GATE scores or performance in the written test and interview. Such candidates will be provided financial assitance in the form of teaching assistant-ship.
