Swami Vivekananda's Relevance Explored in Ahmedabad University Student’s Winning Elocution Speech

What is the relevance of Swami Vivekananda as a youth icon? Our student, Mana Shah (Integrated MS, Class of 2026), attempted to establish this link as part of the Inter-collegiate Swami Vivekananda Elocution Competition, which she won. Mana, who has won the trophy consecutively for the second time, competed against participants representing 23 colleges. Her winning speech highlighted how Swami Vivekananda's ideas call for a society built on principles like equality, collective growth, and empathy. His ideas recognised the importance of societal support for mental health, making him a relevant advocate for today's times. Furthermore, she argued that what made him a youth icon was his immense faith in young people to solve all problems.
