3rd Annual Technology Fest, Ingenium 2018, to be Organised by the School of Engineering and Applied Science

The School of Engineering and Applied Science is set for the 3rd technology festival, ‘Ingenium 2018’, to be held on March 16-18, 2018. Ingenium 2018 includes workshops, presentations, talks, and socials for participating students. This edition of Ingenium has invited students from cities across Gujarat to prove their mettle and enrich their knowledge, thus proving our motto, Where Innovation is Education. Sanjay Chaudhary, Associate Dean, School of Engineering and Applied Science, said, “Ingenium offers students the opportunity to showcase their technical skills and innovative bent of mind along with social initiatives. It is a platform to test their calibre, while maintaining a healthy and competitive spirit. Ingenium inculcates the core university values of project-based learning and multidisciplinary approaches to real-life problems.”

Ingenium has been growing gradually since its first edition in 2016. The second edition of the annual tech fest in 2017 witnessed the participation of more than 1200 students from 21 different academic institutes around Ahmedabad.

Part of this year’s activities at ‘Ingenium 2018’ are workshops and events guided by mentors from institutions such as IIT Bombay, IIT Gandhinagar, and LD Institute of Engineering. We have invited experts on campus to deliver talks on Cryptocurrency and MATLAB for Chemical Engineering.

The itinerary of Ingenium 2018 includes

  • Competitions (Code Villa, Codefi, Designer's Paradise, Web Spin, Construct-O-Mania, Ultimate Prix and Rocket Propulsion, Model Development, Conquer The Throne, Codefeeder, Robotics)
  • Events (Junkyard Wars, Fuel Cell Car, Techno-Industrial Quiz, ‘Does Grey Matter?’)
  • Games (Mini Militia, FIFA, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Socc-Bots)

Google's Applied CS with Android workshop has been concluded under Ingenium 2018. The workshop received an encouraging and proactive response and was followed by the highly popular Hackathon, a 36-hour nonstop coding event. The themes for Hackathon this year were Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Smart Cities, Fintech, and Internet of Things.

The final evening will witness a breathtaking musical performance by popular band The Local Train.
