In this talk, we begin by trying to understand how the values of a few fundamental constants lead to the existence of the myriad kinds of objects which exist in the universe at various length scales (from elementary particles to planets to stars to the universe itself). We then argue that only a little change in the values of some of these fundamental constants could lead to a universe which is very different from ours. Finally, we speculate about the possible lessons which could be learnt from this.
