Integrated Arts Practice

Art making today is becoming an ever-expanding field. As opportunities for art practitioners grow, so does the need for new technological, economic, and aesthetic competencies beyond those of traditional art practice. Distinctions between plastic and performing arts dissolve with the challenges of new media. The field of art today includes policymakers, art curators, managers, and academicians, from traditional to New Media Art, and in the expanding domains of the Creative Industries.

Rajesh Naidu, a practicing painter, and Ashish Rajadhyaksha, a cultural theorist, speak about their own work and how they understand and have addressed the new challenges of art.

Date: Friday 11 February
Time: 5pm to 6.15pm

Speakers:
Professor Ashish Rajadhyaksha
Well-known Film Historian, Cultural Studies Theorist and Arts Curator
Visiting faculty, Ahmedabad University

&

Professor Rajesh Naidu
Practicing Painter and Assistant Professor
