Exploring the Fundamental Particles in the Universe
Exploring the Fundamental Particles in the Universe
In this talk, we shall discuss the elementary particles in nature and their interactions with each other. These particles were discovered over the past 125 years through diverse experiments from those involving cosmic rays in the early years to huge colliders today. The theoretical framework that describes the particles and their interactions is called the Standard Model of Particle Physics. We shall further consider how astrophysical and cosmological observations can provide clues to the existence of new particles beyond those in the Standard Model.
