Bias and Discrimination in Society: Through an Economist’s Lens

What theoretical framework do economists use to study bias?  How do economists quantify the amount of discrimination against certain groups? Pallavi Vyas will discuss some papers that study bias and discrimination against groups due to their race and gender. In addition, she will talk about her own research that studies son preference and domestic violence against women in India.
