The session, conducted as part of a studio themed on water, highlighted the role of corporate responsibility in water conservation. The session centered on the Foundation Programme's concept of teaching that exposes students to a multidisciplinary way of learning. Punit Lalbhai appealed to the attendees to cultivate comprehensiveness in their learning to meet future challenges when approaching serious issues, such as water conservation and recycling, citing examples of innovations/solutions around Arvind's zero-liquid discharge (ZLD). He discussed the complete process of water-free dyeing process, zero liquid discharge technology, the cost-benefit of the process, the challenges faced in recovering the remaining 20-30% from the effluent water after treating 70-80% of the industrial waste, and the impact it has been creating on the industries. He spoke about the importance of innovative use of materials, engineering genius, and the impact it can create worldwide.
