Water bodies and their management are different and interdependent. The former is about use, misuse, and abuse revolving around need, demand, and distribution, while the latter is about resource management and governance that will affect the functioning of the former. They are complex social-ecological systems leading to critical challenges and problems due to the rising climate crises. The session, conducted as part of the Foundation Programme's studio on water, looked into the ecology, economy, social, political, and cultural aspects of both to understand their management and governance.
