Maithili Majithia pursued her Master of Science in Biochemistry from Goa University. She is currently a doctoral student in the Biological and Life Sciences division at Ahmedabad University, and has been awarded the University Research Fellowship. She is inclined towards cancer biology and biomedical sciences, and, particularly, in determining the underlying mutational mechanisms in cancer using metagenomics. She is hopeful that her research work will lead to applications in the advancement in the medical field for diagnostics and therapeutics.
