Abhimanyu Acharya is a multilingual fiction writer, playwright, translator and scholar from Gujarat, who is currently based in Ontario, Canada. His collection of stories in Gujarati titled Padchayao Vacche won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in 2020. In the same year, he also won the Sanhita Manch playwriting award for his play Bhes. He has been longlisted thrice for the Toto Awards for Creative Writing in English. He was awarded the Sahapedia-UNESCO fellowship in 2019 to work on Dalit theatre in Gujarati. His plays have been performed in different cities across India, the US and Canada, and his works have appeared in Out of Print, Usawa Literary Review, Hakara, Gulmohar Quarterly, Readingroom and Karvaan India, among others. His doctoral dissertation, focusing on the aesthetics and politics of theatre in colonial western India, was nominated for the American Distinguished Dissertation Awards in 2023. His second collection of stories, Lagbhagpanu, is out in February 2024. He currently serves as the Creative and Academic Writing Specialist at Kings University College in London, Ontario, and is a postdoctoral researcher at Western Ontario University. 

Abhimanyu Acharya will be in conversation with Pallavi Narayan, Associate Professor of Practice, School of Arts and Sciences and Director, Ahmedabad Writing Programme about his forthcoming book of short stories Lagbhagpanu (Almost-ness).
