Subhash Rajpurohit Collaborates with Cornwall's David Hosken on Lipid Molecules and Stress Handling

Subhash Rajpurohit, Associate Professor and Ramanujan Fellow, School of Arts and Sciences, received a Research Fellowship from the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) 2022 to initiate India-Europe research collaborations. During his recently concluded visit to Exeter University, UK, Professor Rajourohit initiated several collaborative projects with Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Cornwall, and eminent evolutionary biologist Professor David Hosken's Lab.

An ongoing collaboration, the projects explore the role of lipid molecules in stress handling (high temperature and drought) and behaviour. Professor Rajpurohit is an ecological and evolutionary physiologist with research interests in species, climate warming, and evolution. He is interested in understanding fundamental questions around spatiotemporal variation, metabolic ecology, and rapid adaptations. In addition, he uses experimental evolution to study how physiological systems function and evolve under defined conditions.
