Siddhartha Saxena Part of Fetzer Scholarship Committee that Supports Research at the Intersections of Spirituality and Religion with Management

Assistant Professor at Amrut Mody School of Management Siddhartha Saxena has been selected to the Fetzer Scholarship Committee, to support research around spirituality and religion within the domain of management. He is the only Asian faculty in the six-member committee that is part of the Fetzer Institute and the Management, Spirituality and Religion (MSR) Interest Group at the Academy of Management (AOM). 

The group focuses on research on spirituality and religion in management, organisations, and society and research on personal and organisational transformation, workplace spirituality, spiritual leadership development, transformative teaching, and conscious business. Among other things, the Fetzer Scholarship Committee focuses on supporting the work of researchers and scholars and facilitating them to present it at the AOM conference.

Professor Saxena says, "MSR is a very niche domain within organisational behaviour. As part of the committee, among other things, I will be involved in identifying future scholars in this area and writing a joint research report on the impact of the MSR Interest Group on growth and management areas. A Fellowship Programme has also been planned." Till date, the Fetzer Scholarship Committee has identified and supported 80 scholars from 30 countries.

One of the research areas that Professor Saxena works on is the dark side of organisations. He says, "The MSR Interest Group's work (among other things) is premised on well-being, goodness, equity, and inclusion, all vital to management and dependent on spiritual practices. It provides one of the solutions to the issues and challenges pertaining to the dark side of organisations.
