Shobha Das Joins Ahmedabad University as Dean of Amrut Mody School of Management

Professor Pankaj Chandra, Vice Chancellor, Ahmedabad University, announced Professor Shobha Das as the new Dean of the Amrut Mody School of Management effective June 14, 2024. Professor Das joins from the IFMR Graduate School of Business, Krea University, where she has served as Dean and as Professor, PhD Committee Chair, and Strategy Area Chair.

Professor Das brings with her three decades of teaching and research experience that includes Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Qatar University. She pioneered the use of simulation during her academic career in all the three universities she has been associated with.

Trained in the case method at the Harvard Business School (PCMPCL programme), Professor Das has taught a wide range of Undergraduate, Masters, Doctoral, and Executive courses in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Innovation, and Technology. 

Professor Das holds a PhD in Strategic Management and Organization from the University of Minnesota, USA, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and a BA (Honours) in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. She was a recipient of the National Talent Search Scholarship for her higher secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies. She has published widely in highly regarded journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal.

As Dean of the Amrut Mody School of Management, she will lead a school that is growing in influence, has one of the most talented young faculty in the country, and offers some very innovative business programmes.
