Preet Desai Secures Admission to Northeastern University for Masters in Biotechnology

Preet Desai, BS (Honours) in Life Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences, Class of 2022, has secured admission to Northeastern University in the Masters in Biotechnology programme, studying pharmaceutical technology, regulatory sciences, biodefence, and bio agriculture.

Ahmedabad University’s Undergraduate Research Programme deeply inspired Preet. “Professor Ritesh Kumar Shukla helped me write a research paper titled ‘A novel method for blood detection using fluorescent dye’ currently under editorial review, and a review paper. He was instrumental in helping build a strong research experience as part of my undergraduate education,” he says. As a peer tutor and a mentor for various workshops at the student-led science fest Chiasma, Preet was also actively engaged in learning outside the classroom. “I would like to appreciate these experiences as part of Ahmedabad University’s pedagogy. The research projects offered in the last two semesters allowed me to challenge myself in new ways. Importantly, the infrastructure and facilities that the University provides are at par with international universities,” he adds.
