The new Canadian High Commissioner to India, Mr Christopher Cooter, visited Ahmedabad University to discuss higher education in India and explore potential partnership programmes between Canadian universities and Ahmedabad University. He was accompanied by the Consul General for Western India and the Senior Trade Commissioner from the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai.
During his interaction with Professor Pankaj Chandra, Vice Chancellor, the discussion focused on opportunities for collaboration in building academic partnerships, fostering student and faculty exchanges, and advancing research with global relevance. Professor Chandra shared how Ahmedabad University, as a young institution, is reimagining higher education through an unusual approach that integrates interdisciplinary and experiential learning, research, and societal engagement.
