Ahmedabad's Interdisciplinary Excellence Inspires American US Fulbright Administrators
The focus on interdisciplinary education and excellence in teaching and learning at Ahmedabad University won the appreciation of a delegation of US Fulbright administrators during their recent visit to the varsity campus. The visit, organised by the United States India Educational Foundation, was coordinated by the Office of International Affairs at Ahmedabad University.
Members of the visiting group interacted with Vice Chancellor Professor Pankaj Chandra, and Senior Associate Dean of the Amrut Mody School of Management and Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University.
They discussed the evolution of higher education in India, the New Education Policy launched in 2020, and the transformative role played by academic institutions like Ahmedabad University in the higher education sector in India.
"The institution emphasises cultivation of a unique way of thinking, connecting, and becoming. It lays significance on interdisciplinary connections and solving complex issues not through discipline-specific solutions alone. This becomes instrumental in strengthening the students' intellectual resilience," asserted Takeo Suzuki, Executive Director of the Center for Global Education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, who was among the delegates.
