Ahmedabad University and Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association Sign MoU for Knowledge Building

Ahmedabad University and Ahmedabad Textile Industry’s Research Association (ATIRA) have signed an MoU in August 2022 for enhancing academic knowledge through research and development and practical expertise through real-world problem solving, and disseminating knowledge and providing industry-relevant skills. Additionally, the five-year MoU will help establish a framework to facilitate collaboration not just between the two bodies but also with industry.

The MoU aligns with Ahmedabad University’s interdisciplinary learning, project orientation, and research focus. With a team of faculty members and researchers that has expertise in innovation, design, and simulation in various disciplines, the University plans to develop research and teaching programmes in composite materials for various applications.  ATIRA is an autonomous non-profit research and development institution providing services in all aspects of textiles and composite materials to industries, and is planning to expand its product portfolio. It is a recognised research institution by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The MoU provides a framework for cooperation in promoting, designing and delivering academic and capacity building programmes for dealing with problems in practice working closely with the relevant industry.
