Research Staff

Shaurya is a researcher at the Global Centre for Environment and Energy at Ahmedabad University, India. His research concentrates on the interface between science and policy, particularly in sustainable development, climate change mitigation, climate communications, urban science, planning, and policymaking. He has collaborated with the Co-Chair and Technical Support Unit of Working Group III (WGIII) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on Assessment Report Six (AR6), which encompasses the Special Report on Climate Change and Land (SRCCL) and the Mitigation of Climate Change Report. Prior to joining Ahmedabad University, Shaurya worked at the Centre for Urban Equity at CEPT University, where he contributed to various projects such as Building Inclusive Urban Communities (BInUCom) funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union and Inclusive Urban Housing as Climate Change Strategy, which received funding from the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India. Shaurya received his bachelor's degree in urban planning from CEPT University, India. He identifies himself as a generalist who uses creative imagination, unquenchable curiosity, experimentation, and empirical testing to tackle the world's fundamental problems.
