Preeti Maneck studied English literature for her Bachelor of Arts Degree (MS University of Baroda, 1989). She also obtained her Master of Arts degree in English Literature (MS University of Baroda, 1991) with a specialisation in comparative Literature. Her MPhil dissertation was titled Tradition and Modernity in African Fiction: the Case of Achebe, Ngugi and Soyinka (MS University of Baroda, 1995). Her PhD dissertation is titled Construction of Nation in Indian Novels in English (Gujarat University, 2016). She has read Indian novels in English alongside Dalit literature in English through the lens of theories of nation.

She worked at the Department of English, Faculty of Arts at the MS University of Baroda as temporary lecturer for many years before moving to Ahmedabad in 2001.She has been working at the BCom. Programme, Amrut Mody School of Management  since 2001.

Her research interests are comparative literature, postcolonial literature, dalit literature, tribal literature, Indian drama in English, LGBTQ studies and environment studies. She is a keen reader and appreciates books on diverse topics such as alternative healing, confluence of technology and art, and art history. She is interested in various literary theories and is a member of organisations like the Forum of Contemporary Theory and Balvant Parekh Centre for General Semantics and Other Human Sciences. She has participated and presented research papers at conferences, seminars, and workshops at national and international level.
