Professor Kaushalendra Kishore has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur, an MPhil from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, and a PhD in Finance from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance and the Economic and Political Weekly. He has received both the Kishore Vaigyanic Protsahana Yojana (KVPY) Scholarship and the National Talent Search Scholarship.
Professor Kaushalendra works in the area of banking and financial crisis. He is currently working on study agency problems within banks and how it can help in understanding why risk management may fail in banks. In another project, he is working on building a herding model, in which rational agents herd with irrational agents leading to excessive investment in risky projects.
