Prior to joining Ahmedabad University, Professor Eshita Mazumdar was associated with the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore, as National Board for Higher Mathematics Postdoctoral Fellow. During 2018-19, she was a visiting faculty at IIT Jammu, and previously was a postdoctoral fellow at IIT Bombay and Nankai University, China. She was awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Grant for doing postdoctoral work at Nankai University. She also received the Erasmus+ International Program (K 107) grant for collaboration and travel.
Professor Mazumdar received her PhD in 2016 from the Homi Bhabha National Institute, Department of Atomic Energy, under the guidance of Professor S.D. Adhikari. She did her MS from IIT Kharagpur, and her BS from the University of Calcutta. Currently her areas of interests lie in combinatorics and number theory. Professor Mazumdar is an Assistant Professor in the Mathematical and Physical Sciences division of the School of Arts and Sciences
Professor Mazumdar’s areas of interest are combinatorics and number theory. She worked on zero-sum theory which is a kind of combinatorial problem. A lot of group theoretic, probabilistic and number theoretic methods are involved in such problems. She is also interested in working on algebraic combinatorics and diophantine equations, which involve deep knowledge of representation theory, graph theory and number theory. Besides that, her broad research interests lie in several areas of mathematics including computational algorithms.

I am looking for motivated PhD students and postdocs to work in problems related to Combinatorial Number Theory and/or Additive & Extremal Combinatorics.
If you are interested in joining as a PhD student then please email me with a CV and consult the Ahmedabad University PhD admission guidelines.
If you are interested in joining as a postdoc then please email me with your CV. At present, I do not have any funds for hiring a postdoc but I am open to supporting suitable applicants for external funding like NBHM and NPDF.
