Rutul Shah (BCom '16) Mentored Student Team Wins the 17th CFA Institute Research Challenge in India
Ahmedabad alumnus Rutul Shah, BCom, Class of 2016, mentored a student team that won the 17th CFA Institute Research Challenge in India. The global equity research competition organised for university students involves hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis, attracting over 6,000+ students from 100+ countries and 1,000+ universities.
Rutul mentored his students' team in presenting about Zomato, where he helped them research and analyse the company, prepare a written report, and present and defend their findings to a panel of industry experts. The team cleared the zonal and regional rounds to win the nationals, competing alongside 50 groups representing premier institutions. The team will now represent India in the South Asia and Asia Pacific round.
"As a former contest winner in India and one of the youngest industry mentors, I have grown as a manager through this competition. It has helped me network with industry stalwarts such as Anil Ghelani, Namit Arora, Pankaj Tibrewal, and others. It has inspired me to be more active and help in my professional journey," said Rutul.
"Ahmedabad University shaped my appreciation for industry and academic events, contributing significantly to my professional growth. The encouragement from faculty and the University's dynamic ecosystem motivated me to actively pursue opportunities beyond traditional academics, culminating in valuable experiences," added Rutul.
